Accelerate the recognition of immigrants’ skills: The government is taking action!

The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) announced today the implementation of a concerted action plan to recognize the skills of immigrants.

Under the coordination of the MIFI, this action plan is implemented with the Ministères de l’Éducation, de l’Enseignement supérieur, des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie, de la Santé et des Services sociaux, du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, in close collaboration with the Office des professions du Québec, the Conseil interprofessionnel du Québec and the Commission de la construction du Québec.

The action plan will take place over two years and will aim to support immigrants by simplifying the skills recognition process and speeding up related procedures. The plan provides for an investment of $130 million over two years and six major measures aimed at assistance and financial support for immigrants and the various stakeholders involved to facilitate the employment integration of immigrants.
