The permanent immigration pilot program for workers in the artificial intelligence, information technologies and visual effects sectors comes into force

Montréal, April 22, 2021 - The Ministère announces the implementation of the Permanent immigration pilot program for workers in the artificial intelligence, information technologies and visual effects sectors as enacted by the Gazette officielle du Québec on March 3.

This pilot program aims to attract and promote the retention of foreign workers who have significant work experience in one of the targeted sectors, as well as Québec graduates in artificial intelligence.

It specifically targets workers and researchers in the artificial intelligence sector and certain professions with a shortage of manpower in the information technology and visual effects sectors.

For 2021, the application reception period is open from April 22 to October 31.

It should be recalled that this permanent immigration pilot program will make it possible to select up to 550 people each year as well as their family members. This number is distributed equally between each stream at the rate of 275 people per stream. It will end on January 1, 2026.
