Publication of a draft regulation for the Entrepreneur Program

December 9, 2020 – Today, the Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration and Minister Responsible for the Laurentides Region announced the publication of a draft regulation to amend the Québec Immigration Regulation in the Gazette officielle du Québec.

This draft regulation pertains to Stream 2 of the Entrepreneur Program for foreign nationals seeking to create or acquire and operate a business in Québec. The proposed amendments are intended to eliminate the requirement for a start-up deposit and security deposit for files already received by the Ministère.

Note that the intake of new applications under Stream 2 of the Entrepreneur Program has been suspended until November 1, 2021.

The draft regulation is published for 45 days. Individuals and organizations can make comments and recommendations regarding the draft regulation from December 9, 2020 to January 23, 2021.

Consult the draft regulation published in the Gazette officielle du Québec.
