Conditions and procedure

When to submit an application

Important :
As of July 22, 2020, new selection conditions apply to candidates who submit an application under the Programme de l’expérience québécoise (PEQ – Québec experience program). One of the new selection conditions pertains to the spouse or de facto spouse included in the principal applicant’s application. Transitional measures are also planned.

As a temporary foreign worker staying in Québec, you must wait until you have completed at least 24 months of full-time in a job at level 0, A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) work before applying for permanent selection under the Programme de l’expérience  québécoise (PEQ – Québec Experience Program).

These 24 months of work must have been completed within the 36 months preceding your application. They may have been completed with one or more employers, on a continuous or discontinuous basis. However, a job held as a self-employed worker or for a company that you own, in whole or in part, is not considered under the Programme de l’expérience québécoise.

In addition, you must also hold a paid full-time job at level 0, A or B of the NOC in Québec at the time of application.
