Conditions and procedure

Important :
As of July 22, 2020, new selection conditions apply to candidates who submit an application under the Programme de l’expérience québécoise (PEQ – Québec experience program). One of the new selection conditions pertains to the spouse or de facto spouse included in the principal applicant’s application. Transitional measures are also planned.

When to apply

If you hold a diploma for technical college studies, a bachelor’s or master’s degree or a doctorate, you can submit your application for the Québec experience program if:

  • you acquired at least 12 months’ experience in a job at level 0, A or B under the NOC after the end of your study program;
  • you still hold this job.

If you hold a diploma of vocational studies at the secondary level (which, on its own or combined with an attestation of vocational specialization obtained consecutively, attesting to a minimum of 1800 hours or more of continuing education and leading to a particular trade), you can submit your application for the Québec experience program from Québec if:

  • You acquired at least 18 months’ experience in a job at level 0, A, B or C under the NOC after the end of your study program;
  • you still hold this job.
