Obtaining a Certificat de sélection du Québec

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The content of this page is not up-to-date.

A new regulation respecting immigration to Québec entered into force on August 2, 2018.

For the time being, only the French versions of the Web pages and forms are up-to-date. Please refer to them while waiting for the content update in English. You can also consult the Québec Immigration Act in the Gazette officielle du Québec.

Thank you for your understanding.

You live in Québec and have just been recognized as a refugee or a person in need of protection by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. You may now submit an application for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec selection certificate).

You can apply online, using the Demande de sélection permanente - Personne reconnue réfugiée au Canada ou personne à protéger (incluant les membres de sa famille) A-0520-DF (in French only - PDF, 638 ko).

This form also allows you to submit an application for:

  • your family members who are in Québec and have also been recognized as refugees or persons in need of protection;
  • the family members you would like to bring over from abroad or who are currently in Québec but have not been recognized as refugees or persons in need of protection.

Once your application has been processed, you will receive your Québec selection certificate as well as the certificates for your family members who, like you, have been recognized as refugees or persons in need of protection.

Your family members who did not have status as refugees or persons in need of protection will receive their selection certificate when Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada confirms with us that they have included them in your application for permanent residence.

The members of your family who are abroad must, before being able to join you in Québec, obtain their visa from the Canadian visa office for the country or territory where they are residing.

The processing of your application is free.
