To succeed in learning French

Will you soon be taking steps to integrate into  Québec society by registering in a full-time or part-time French course? The Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration offers you:

  • various course formats;
  • free courses tailored to your needs;
  • a team of competent teachers;
  • numerous training locations;
  • financial assistance to enable you to take courses.

In order to learn French in the best possible conditions, you must:

  • play an active role in the success of your French-language training;
  • help maintain a climate in the classroom that is conducive to learning French;
  • comply with the rules, policies and guidelines of the learning centre and the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration.

If some of its program requirements are not met, the Ministère can take different measures. For example, it could exclude an individual from a course if he or she:

  • is absent for 5 consecutive or non-consecutive days;
  • fails to take the exams;
  • demonstrates an inappropriate conduct or a conduct inconsistent with the democratic values and the Québec values as expressed in the Charter of human rights and freedoms.
