Financial assistance

Financial assistance
Allowances are granted to students admitted to a full-time course. To obtain financial assistance, all you have to do is submit an application to the Ministère for admission to a full-time French course. Learn about the conditions of eligibility for allowances.

Participation allowance

Since July 1, 2019, financial assistance has increased from $141 to $185 per week for immigrants studying French full time.

Transportation allowance and commuting allowance

All students who are taking a full-time French course may receive a transportation or commuting allowance.

The allowance for child care expenses

The allowance for child care expenses provides for reimbursement of actual costs paid by the student, up to a maximum of $25 per day per dependent child, based on various care situations.

Request reimbursement of child care expenses

To receive reimbursement for child care expenses, you must present the request yourself to the person in charge of your course location. You must complete and present this form: Demande d’allocation pour frais de garde dans le cadre du Programme d’aide financière pour l’intégration linguistique des immigrants (A-0592-CF) (French only - PDF, 213 Kb).
