The Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec (comparative evaluation for studies done outside Québec) is a document that compares educational benchmarks (or main diplomas) and areas of training under the Québec education system with studies done outside Québec.

This comparative evaluation is not a diploma or an equivalency diploma. It is an expert opinion issued for reference purposes that can help individuals who studied outside Québec find a job or continue their studies. It does not bind employers, professional orders, regulatory agencies or educational institutions, which may evaluate your training based on their own methods and criteria.

Here is the procedure for requesting a comparative evaluation:

  1. Send the Ministère the form Demande d’ Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec (Dynamic PDF, 1675 Kb) (Comparative evaluation for studies done outside Quebec) in its original format, duly completed in block letters, signed and dated.
    - You must declare all your educational training on the form, even if you do not want to have everything evaluated.

  2. Attach payment of required fees through one of the accepted payment methods.
    - If you are paying by credit card, please make sure that you have duly completed, signed and enclosed the original payment form along with your request.

  3. Include legible and complete photocopies of your authorized identification documents.
  4. Attach legible and complete certified copies of the original educational documents you want to have evaluated.
    - You must obtain certified true copies of the original confirmed by recognized authorities of the country or territory responsible for the training.
  5. Attach the original translations of all your documents written in a language other than French or English, including seals and references to authorities who have certified copies of a document.
    - You must include translations done by a recognized translator.
  6. Place each translation above the corresponding document translated.
  7. Place each diploma above the related transcript.
  8. If you want to mandate someone to represent you, add a duly completed original power of attorney.
  9. Mail the entire package to the Direction de l'enregistrement et de l'évaluation comparative.
