Territory and main cities

The Outaouais region is a vast territory located in the southwest corner of Québec. Bordered to the northwest by Abitibi-Témiscamingue, to the east by the Laurentians and to the southwest by Ontario, it is located along rivière des Outaouais, which forms a natural border between Ontario and Québec. The quality of life in the region is just one of the advantages that make the Outaouais a wise choice of places to live.

Economy and employment

The Outaouais’ dynamic urban life blends harmoniously with its open expanses that have been conserved in their natural state or developed for farming and recreational activities. Renowned for its quality of life, the Outaouais is also a major high-tech hub—one of the fastest growing in North America. Strategically located, the region offers easy and fast access to all major business centres.
