Health and social service centres

Health and social service centres (CSSSs) offer the entire population—children, youth, adults and seniors—common health and psychosocial services, with or without an appointment.

The Info-Santé telephone line, at 8-1-1, offers advice from qualified nurses. This telephone line is free and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

CSSS services are generally free (blood tests, vaccinations, etc.), even during the waiting period for your health insurance card. However, you must have a health insurance card in order to obtain medical services except in certain exceptional cases.
