Emergency medical care

If you or someone close to you needs emergency medical care, go to the nearest hospital emergency clinic. However, if the person requiring attention cannot be moved, call for medical emergency service by dialing 9-1-1.

Transport by ambulance

It is usually necessary to pay for ambulance services, unless you have private insurance covering these costs. You will be billed in the days following use of the service. Ambulance service is generally free, however, for victims of road or workplace accidents, hospitalized persons who must change health-care facility, employment assistance recipients and persons aged 65 and over.
