Retaining the services of a mandatary – Permanent workers and businesspeople

Applications for a Québec selection certificate submitted to the Ministère are all processed according to the same criteria. No priority or special processing is given to the file of a person who uses the services of a mandatary (lawyer, notary or recognized consultant). Consequently, it is not necessary to use the paid services of an individual to prepare your application.

However, if you decide to use the paid services of an individual, note that the Ministère only deals with duly authorized individuals, that is:

Permanent worker

If you are a permanent worker and are retaining the services of a mandatary, you must send the originals of the following documents to the Ministère, by mail:

If applicable, you must also send a copy of the special authorization issued to your mandatary by the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.

Businesspeople

If, to submit an application under the businesspeople category, you are retaining the services of a mandatary, you must indicate this on the application for a Certificat de sélection du Québec and enclose a power of attorney, duly signed by you.

Moreover, if you would like another person to communicate with the Ministère to obtain information on your behalf, you must include with your application the form Autorisation de communiquer des renseignements personnels (Dynamic PDF, 999 Kb).
