Procedure followed by your employer – Temporary worker hired for a high-wage position

The employer who is ready to hire you must:

Note: Employers can take advantage of a simplified procedure if the job they are offering corresponds to one of the occupations eligible for simplified processing. Your employer must send the application to the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Diversité et de l'Inclusion and to Service Canada at the same time. For the list of specialized occupations and to find out about the employer’s simplified procedure, consult the section Recrutement de travailleurs – Postes à haut salaire (Recruiting workers – high-wage positions).

Note: For more information on applying for a Demande d'étude de l'impact sur le marché du travail (EIMT) (Labour Market Impact Assessment – LMIA), consult the section Recrutement de travailleurs temporaires – Postes haut salaire (Recruiting temporary workers – high-wage positions).

If the job offer is accepted (positive or neutral LMIA), the employer will send you two copies of your Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (Québec Acceptance Certificate) as well as a confirmation letter from Service Canada and the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Diversité et de l'Inclusion. You will need all of these documents to apply for your work permit from the Government of Canada.
