Supporting documents required – Application for Certificate of acceptance for temporary work

You must provide your future employer with the following supporting documents so that he or she can follow up on your application for a Certificate of acceptance (CAQ) for temporary work from the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Diversité et de l'Inclusion:

  • a photocopy of the pages of your passport that feature your name, place of birth and signature;
  • your detailed, up-to-date curriculum vitæ;
  • a photocopy of your diplomas and transcripts accompanying them.

If the documents are written in a language other than French or English, they must be translated by a translator officially recognized in your country of residence. These documents must bear the seal and signature of the translator.

Note : You must send the Application for Certificate of acceptance (CAQ) for temporary work, duly completed and signed, directly to the employer. Do not forget to complete the section of the Application for Certificate of acceptance (CAQ) for temporary work entitled Authorization given to employer to authorize your employer to represent you in your process with the Ministère.

The fee charged to examine the application for a CAQ may be paid by the employer.

Worker coming to take a job included on the Liste des professions admissibles au traitement simplifiť (List of occupations eligible for simplified processing)

If you are coming to take a job included on the Liste des professions admissibles au traitement simplifiť (List of occupations eligible for simplified processing), you must send your future employer a copy of your diploma attesting that you possess at least a general education leading to a high school diploma (DES) or its equivalent.

In addition, when a diploma above the level of a high school diploma is normally required under the National Occupational Classification 2006, you must send your employer a copy of your diploma attesting that you meet this requirement.

Jobs lasting 30 days or less do not require a CAQ.

Certain jobs are exempted from the need for work permits and the Labour Market Impact Assessment.
