Arriving in Québec and settling in

You will receive your work permit upon arrival at the point of entry in Québec, when you present the letter of authorization given to you by the Canadian Embassy or the Canadian Visa Office serving your country.

First steps

When you arrive, certain steps must be carried out quickly. Some employers offer support for carrying out these steps.

Once you have an address in Québec, and if you are 18 years of age or older, you’ll have access to two electronic services that will help you with your general integration and settlement process as well as learning and perfecting your French:

3 steps to take upon arrival

Depending on your situation, you can carry out the following steps:

  1. Finding housing.

  2. Obtaining important Québec documents.

  3. Enrolling children in school or daycare.
