Applying for an Acceptance Certificate for studies

• To apply, choose one of the following options:
  
  
  • Complete an online application (with online payment using a credit card);
  • Complete a form available in dynamic or static PDF format;
  • Complete a printed form transmitted by your educational institution. Please note that the use of a form printed prior to 2008 could lead to delays in processing your application. If you are in doubt, use the online application or a PDF form.
• Enclose the required fees if you are using a PDF or printed form rather than the online application.

• Enclose the required documents applicable to the country in which you are currently residing or staying:
• France (including Réunion), Monaco, Austria, Hong Kong, Mexico
• United States, Greenland, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon
• Canada (and that you are filing your first Application for an Acceptance Certificate for Studies)
• All other countries
• For minor children (under age 18) who will be studying, you must also provide the original documents or copies applicable to their situation.

• Send your complete file to the Service aux étudiants étrangers in Montréal.
  
  

  If you meet the prerequisites, a Québec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) for studies will be issued in your name. The CAQ is generally valid for the duration of your study program up to a maximum of 49 months.

  NOTE: If you obtain a CAQ for studies for the fall semester and you postpone your arrival by one semester, you do not have to submit a new application for a CAQ for studies. For any other postponement, you must submit a new application for a CAQ for studies.
