Applying for an Acceptance Certificate for studies

To apply, choose one of the following options:
- Complete an online application (with online payment using a credit card);
- Complete a form available in dynamic or static PDF format;
- Complete a printed form transmitted by your educational institution. Please note that the use of a form printed prior to 2008 could lead to delays in processing your application. If you are in doubt, use the online application or a PDF form.
Enclose the required fees if you are using a PDF or printed form rather than the online application.

Enclose the required documents applicable to the country in which you are currently residing or staying:

For minor children (under age 18) who will be studying, you must also provide the original documents or copies applicable to their situation.

N.B.: By law, the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC) cannot release information pertaining to you to anyone (including your parents, if you are 18 years of age or over) without your authorization.

To authorize an individual or an organization to obtain information regarding your Application for a CAQ for studies, or to designate a person to represent you, you must include with your application an Authorization (PDF, 44 Kb) for this individual or organization.

Send your complete file to the Direction de l'immigration économique - Québec, Service aux étudiants étrangers (Temporary Immigration Branch, Foreign Students Service) in Montréal.

If you have satisfied the prerequisites, a CAQ for studies will be issued in your name. The CAQ is valid for the duration of your program of study up to a maximum of 49 months.

Do you want to study in Québec in September?

If you received the letter of admission from the Québec educational institution you will attend, we recommend that you send in your application for a Québec Acceptance Certificate for studies as soon as possible.

Make sure that your file contains all the required documents. An incomplete file cannot be finalized and will delay the processing time.
