Calculating required income for applications with financial requirements

Answering the questions below will help you estimate the gross annual income required to sponsor a family member when your undertaking application is subject to an evaluation of your financial capacity. Every field must be filled in, even if you must enter “0”.

A Family unit¹

D. You must show that you have gross annual income of:⁴

¹ In addition to yourself, you must count:

Your spouse or de facto spouse;
Your dependent children, those of your spouse and, where applicable, the dependent child of these children.

² In addition to the principal sponsored person, you must count all his or her family members whether or not they accompany him or her to Quebec. They include:

His or her spouse or de facto spouse;
His or her dependent children, those of his or her spouse and, where applicable, the dependent child of one of these children.

³ You must indicate the number of adults and minors covered by each undertaking still in effect (for children, use their age when the undertaking came into effect, that is, the date the permanent residence status was obtained or the temporary entry permit was issued).

⁴ The amount shown is provided for information purposes based on your answers. When your application is examined, a different amount could be calculated, based on the rules in effect.
