Information sessions, training sessions and individual meetings

To make it easier for you to get settled and participate fully in the life of Québec, you can take advantage of free information sessions and training sessions as well as individual meetings.

Group information sessions for French-speaking immigrants

Group information sessions are designed for French-speaking immigrants. They are offered in Montréal and other regions in Québec, depending on demand.

  • Les premières démarches d'installation (First settlement steps) (2- to 4-hour session): looking for housing (information and referrals), introduction to the health and education systems, municipal services, public transportation, postal service and banking system, all of which are topics related to everyday life.
  • La connaissance sur la vie et l'emploi en région (Knowledge of life and employment in Québec's regions) (3 hours session offered in Montréal): quality of life, services offered to immigrants, socio-economic conditions and employment opportunities – calendar.

Information sessions for French-speaking immigrants

Information sessions are designed for newcomers to Québec. They are offered in Montréal and other regions of Québec, depending on demand.

  • S’adapter au monde du travail québécois – Vivre ensemble au Québec (Adapting to Québec’s world of work – Living together in Québec) (24-hour training session): Presentation of the common values of Québec society and how they shape the daily lives of Quebecers; information on employment mechanisms, cultural codes in the workplace and the rules of Québec businesses and how they function. This training session is comprised of eight three-hour modules that include simulation exercises, theoretical presentations, discussions and case studies. It is an opportunity for participants to discover the common values of Québec society as well as Québec’s job market. Training sessions are offered in French only and are available in six service points on the Island of Montréal (with the possibility of childcare services) and in five regions of Québec as of September 2010.

    • general information on Québec and your region of destination.
