Applying for permanent residence

It is not necessary to wait until you have obtained your CSQ to apply for permanent residence. Your permanent residence application must be submitted to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. This application covers the members of your family in Québec or abroad. If you do not know exactly where your family members are living abroad, consult the section Bringing your spouse or children to Québec.

The Government of Canada charges a fee to process applications for permanent residence.

  PRACTICAL ADVICE
  • If the members of your family (spouse or children) are still abroad and you intend to bring them to Québec, make sure you list them beforehand on your permanent residence application.
