Fees and payment methods

Application processing fees are updated in January of each year. Be sure to check the required fees to ensure that your application is not returned to you without being processed.

The fees charged by the Québec government to process an undertaking application are as follows:

Fees in effect as of
January 1, 2021
Number of sponsored persons
Fees payable
$410 ($293 + $117)
$527 ($293 + $117 + $117)

Please allow $293 for the principal sponsored person and $117 for each additional person.

If you are sponsoring only minor children and must complete an undertaking application for each child, you will pay $293 for the first sponsored child and $117 for each additional child.

First child: $293 plus 2 children ($117 + $117 = $234) = $527

The fees required must be paid in full, in Canadian currency only, by you or a third party when the application is dropped off or mailed. These required fees are not refundable, even if your application is refused.

Payment methods

Cash payments and travellers cheques are not accepted. The accepted payment methods are the following:

  1. Credit card

You must complete the Payment by credit card form.

ATTENTION: Clearly indicate the amount to be paid on the form, sign it and enclose it with your application, otherwise it will be returned to you. If your credit card payment is declined, the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration will not contact you to notify you of the refusal, and your entire file will be returned to you by regular mail.

  2. Canada Post money order
Bank draft drawn on a Canadian bank
Certified cheque drawn on a Canadian bank
Cheque issued by a currency exchange broker

ATTENTION! Cheques and bank drafts must be made payable to the Minister of Finance of Québec and must be mailed with your application package to Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration. Remember to print the applicant’s name in block letters on the back of the cheque. Cash payments, personal cheques and travellers cheques are not accepted.

In the same envelope, enclose the duly completed and signed form, all the documents required depending on your situation (appendices, declarations, etc.), as well as payment of the required fees, and mail it to the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration office that is processing your application.

Note: If your sponsorship is subject to a financial evaluation, please consult the financial scales.
