Completing and sending in the official immigration application

IMPORTANT

- Carefully follow the instructions provided when filling out your application.

- The application must include the form, duly completed and signed, all necessary documents, and payment of the required fees (in Canadian currency only), otherwise it will be returned to the applicant without being processed.

- Applications must be submitted or mailed to one of the two following offices: the Bureau d'immigration du Québec in Hong Kong (countries covered) or the Service aux gens d’affaires in Montréal (for the other countries).

 

To make an official immigration application, applicants who submit an application in the Investor subclass must complete the Application for a Selection Certificate − Investor (PDF, 869 Kb). If your spouse, including de facto spouse, is accompanying you, he or she must complete the appropriate section of this form.

Applicants who submit an application in the Entrepreneur and Self-Employed Worker subclass must complete the Application for Selection Certificate – Principal applicant, spouse or de facto spouse (Dynamic PDF, 599 Kb) and the Contract respecting financial self-sufficiency. If your spouse or de facto spouse is accompanying you, he or she must also complete an Application for a Selection Certificate. The spouse or de facto spouse must always indicate his or her name at birth.

The principal applicant in one of those two subclasses must also complete the appropriate appendix

REMINDER

Do not forget to include the following documents:

  • your narrative document and, where applicable, that of your accompanying spouse or de facto spouse
  • all required declarations
  • all the supporting documents required according to your territory and your situation
  • the payment covering fees for examining your file.

 

For businesspeople, applications must be submitted or mailed to one of the two following offices: the Bureau d'immigration du Québec in Hong Kong (countries covered) or the Service aux gens d’affaires in Montréal (for the other countries).

Processing times (Investor Program) will vary according to country, the volume of applications and the staff available.

Since the files are strictly confidential, no information is given out over the telephone. Applicants are informed of the progress of their file by mail or by fax.

  USEFUL INFORMATION  

Investor Program
You are required to sign an investment agreement with a financial intermediary (broker or trust company) authorized to participate in the Investor program. This agreement must be included with the documents appended to your Application for a Québec Selection Certificate.

Self-Employed Worker Program

  • Before officially applying for immigration (CSQ), which requires you to pay certain non-refundable processing fees, you can first evaluate online your chances of being selected by Québec. You will receive an instant response free of charge!
  • Depending on your field of activity, you may have to contact the regulatory body governing the practise of your profession or trade. In some cases, you may begin procedures to have your training or diploma recognized from abroad.
 
     

 

 

  PRACTICAL ADVICE  
  • If you are unable to download the forms, contact the Service de la sélection aux Gens d’affaires à Montréal or the Bureau d’immigration du Québec (BIQ - Québec immigration office) covering your country to obtain them. Be sure to indicate if your spouse or dependent children 22  years of age or over are accompanying you.
