Conditions for obtaining the attestation according to your status in Québec

To obtain your attestation, various conditions will apply, according to your status and that of your family members in Québec.

  • If you and your accompanying family members have a valid work or study permit under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR):
    • You and your family members can choose to participate in the Objectif Intégration information session even before submitting your permanent selection application. Your participation in the Objectif Intégration information session will attest to your learning of democratic values and Québec values when you apply for permanent selection.
    • If you and your family members apply for permanent selection without first obtaining the prerequisite attestation, you will need to complete the online assessment or participate in the Objectif Intégration information session within 60 days of the Minister’s request for the attestation.
  • If you have a valid work or study permit under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) but your accompanying family members do not have one:
    • Your family members cannot take the online assessment or participate in the Objectif Intégration information session until your permanent selection application has been submitted and the required fees have been paid, within 60 days of the Minister’s request for the attestation.
  • If neither you nor your family members have a valid work or study permit under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR):
    • Following receipt of the Minister's request to obtain the attestation, you and your family members must first complete the online assessment. You cannot participate in the Objectif Intégration session unless you have made at least two attempts to successfully complete the online assessment.
    • If you and your family members fail the online assessment after the second attempt, you will be required to choose between taking the assessment for a third and final time or participating in an Objectif Intégration session in Québec. You cannot choose both.

If you fail to obtain the attestation within the prescribed time frame, your request will be rejected.
