Part-time courses

Learn French in just a few hours a week!

Part-time French courses are offered to immigrants 16 years of age and older who live in Québec.

You are eligible for part-time French courses if you have one of the following immigration statuses:

  • obtained permanent residence;
  • authorized to submit an application for permanent residence from within Canada;
  • obtained asylum;
  • seeking asylum in Canada while settled in Québec;
  • holder of a temporary stay permit issued pending the granting of permanent residence or a Ministerial permit;
  • holder of a temporary stay permit as a temporary worker or foreign student and holder of a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec Selection Certificate);
  • Naturalized Canadian citizen.

 

If you are eligible for part-time French courses, you may be granted financial aid for child care. The amount of child care allowance is set at $7 per child per day of training.

Schedule

The courses are offered throughout the year.

The duration of courses is approximately 7 weeks in the summer and 11 weeks the rest of the year. The courses are offered with the following options:

  • Beginner or intermediate courses;
  • Choice between 4, 6, 9 or 12 hours of classes per week;
  • Day or evening courses available.

 

REGISTRATION

You must register directly with the institution where you want to take your course. In addition, you must undergo an evaluation prior to registration.

  2. Contact the organization that is offering them to obtain information for your registration.
  3. To prepare yourself, you can download and fill out the following forms:
