Success in learning French

Will you soon be taking steps to integrate into Québec society by registering in a full-time or part-time French course? The Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC) offers you:

  • various course formats;
  • free courses tailored to your needs;
  • a team of competent language teachers;
  • numerous training locations;
  • financial aid to assist you in taking courses.

To be successful in learning French and to create a harmonious environment in class and at the learning centre, you must adopt specific conduct so as to:

  • play an active role in the success of your French-language training;
  • help maintain a climate conducive to learning French;
  • comply with the rules, policies and guidelines of the learning centre and the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles.

If some of its program requirements are not met, the MICC can take different measures. For example, it could exclude an individual from a course if he or she:

  • is absent for 5 consecutive or non-consecutive days;
  • fails to take the exams;
  • demonstrates an inappropriate conduct or a conduct inconsistent with the common values of Québec society.
