Create your network of contacts

Networking is one of the most effective methods for finding a job. You can start creating your network of contacts even before your departure by talking about your plans to settle in Québec with friends or acquaintances you already have in Québec.

For someone looking for a job, networking means using your network of acquaintances as a source of information and support. Networking is an excellent strategy for finding hidden jobs. In fact, close to 80% of jobs are not advertised in newspapers or on the Internet.

Volunteer work can also help you build your network of contacts. Volunteer work is voluntary participation without pay to improve the quality of life and well-being of your fellow citizens. If possible, volunteer in your occupational field. This way, you get to know a work environment of interest to you and discover job opportunities. Volunteering can be recognized as valuable experience by employers.
