Main duties

  • Aerospace engineers research, design and develop aerospace vehicles, aerospace systems and their components. They also perform duties related to the testing, evaluation, installation, operation and maintenance of these vehicles and systems.
  • They are employed by aircraft and spacecraft manufacturers, air carriers, public administrations and in educational and research institutions.
  • In Québec, this occupation is regulated. Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is compulsory to practise this occupation and use the title of engineer.
