Obtaining a comparative evaluation

The Évaluation comparative des études effectuées hors du Québec (comparative evaluation for studies done outside Québec) is a document issued by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Diversité et de l'Inclusion that establishes an overall comparison between two official education systems. It compares the educational benchmarks (or main diplomas) and areas of training of Québec’s education systems with studies done outside Québec.

The comparative evaluation is neither a diploma nor an equivalency diploma. It is an expert opinion issued for reference purposes that can help individuals who studied outside Québec find a job or embarkon training.

The comparative evaluation tables were removed from Appendix 3 of the Guide des procédures d'immigration since they contained obsolete information. The Ministère is currently developing a new tool. In the meantime, you can still consult the website of the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials, in the section Country Education Profiles.
