Medical and social services

You can receive medical services in all regions of Québec. These services are provided in private doctor’s offices, private clinics or polyclinics, hospitals and local community service centres (CLSCs).

Always bring along your health insurance card or your child’s card with you when you go to the doctor’s office, clinic, hospital or CLSC.

Going to the doctor

You must clearly describe your symptoms to the doctor so that he or she can diagnose your condition correctly. The doctor must clearly inform you of your state of health as well as the treatment recommended and the medication prescribed. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor questions.
