Information for candidates from the United States

While there is no Québec immigration office in the United States, the Québec government is present on American territory. The team on site holds various promotional activities, primarily in the Northeast, to inform prospective immigrants on Québec’s professional opportunities and immigration procedures.

Foreign workers and students who are temporarily residing in the United States can submit an immigration application to Québec from the United States. These applications are then processed in Québec.

The French language

Applicants who are skilled workers (principal applicants and spouses) and wish to obtain points on the selection grid for their French and English language skills must demonstrate their skills by enclosing with their immigration application the results of French or English assessment tests issued by one of the two organizations recognized by the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles.
