Notice to immigration applicants in the businesspeople class

Country of residence: Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Sudan, Syria, Turkey and Yemen

Do you wish to immigrate as a self-employed worker, entrepreneur or investor and are a resident of one of these countries?
As of January 1, 2009, applications for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ - Québec Selection Certificate) from businesspeople applicants from these countries must be submitted to the Service de sélection des gens d’affaires (businesspeople selection service) in Montréal for processing.

Important information:

If you submitted an application to the Bureau d’immigration du Québec (BIQ - Québec immigration office) in Damascus before January 1, 2009 and were called for an interview at the Damascus office in early 2009; the review of your file will be finalized by the Damascus office. You should therefore send all required documents to the BIQ in Damascus and keep the office informed of any changes to your immigration file.

The same applies to applicants who have already had a selection interview on the territory covered by the BIQ in Damascus and are awaiting a final decision.

If your application was submitted to the BIQ in Damascus after January 1, 2009, it will be transferred to the Service de sélection des gens d’affaires in Montréal for review.
