Information about the Application for a Selection Certificate – Permanent workers

On 21 March 2012, the Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities has come to a decision regarding the intake of applications for selection certificates (in French, 167 Kb). Pursuant to the decision, the Minister determines the maximum number of applications that some skilled worker candidates will be allowed to submit between March 21, 2012 and March 31, 2013.

This decision is taken pending adoption by the National Assembly of Québec of a bill that would contain a provision, retroactive to 20 March 2012, authorizing the Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities to make such determination.

Before proceeding any further, make sure you have duly completed:

• the Documents submitted in support of the Application for Selection Certificate (A-1520-AA) (Dynamic PDF, 289 Kb);
• the Application for Selection Certificate – Skilled Worker – Principal applicant, spouse or de facto spouse (A-0520-AA) (PDF, 150 Kb) (Dynamic PDF to come);
• the Contract respecting financial self-sufficiency (A-0522-OA).

If your spouse is accompanying you, he or she must also complete the Application for a Selection Certificate, if applicable.

Please note as well that, to prove your language proficiency, you must provide the results of a standardized test, even if French or English is your mother tongue.

Then gather together and enclose:

• the appendices duly completed;
• payment of the fees required to process your application.

Send all of these documents to the Direction de l’immigration économique – Moyen-Orient.

To request a change to your application for a selection certificate or that of your spouse, complete the Change to an application for a selection certificate (Dynamic PDF, 82 Kb) form and return it to us along with the necessary documents within 30 days after the change.

Please note that due to the repatriation of activities to Montréal, there will be a delay in sending you the letter confirming that your file has been opened. However, rest assured that this letter will be sent as soon as your file has been opened.

Otherwise, assume that we have received your message and that the processing of your application is underway. If you have documents to mail us, do not forget to take into account that it could take several weeks for use to receive them.
